Safe Routes to School | 10 Similar Project Experience Town-wide ADA Curb Ramp Replacement South Whitley, Indiana DLZ provided professional consulting design services for the development of engineering plans and contract documents for ADA Curb Ramp improvements in the Town of South Whitley, Indiana. The project consisted of construction of ADA compliant curb ramps and sidewalks at 36 intersections around South Whitley. The improvements includes sidewalk pavement construction, ADA compliant curb ramps, minor drainage grading improvements, yard restoration, and pavement markings. Additional services required for the design included field survey, utility coordination, NEPA document preparation (PCE), construction inspection services, and coordination with the various stakeholders such as the Town of South Whitley and adjacent property owners. Mishawaka Safe Routes to Emmons Elementary School Mishawaka, Indiana The Emmons Safe Routes to School project was an INDOT/federally funded project consisting of sidewalk reconstruction along Main Street and 16th Street. The project also included design of curb ramps, advisory signage, pavement markings and preparation of Categorical Exclusion – Level 1 document. The project limits were located along South Main Street, between Sixth and Sixteenth Street, for an approximate length of 3,200 feet, and along East Sixteenth Street, between South Main Street and Union Street, for an approximate length of 1,100 feet. The total project length was approximately 4,300 feet. The concrete sidewalk varied from four to six feet wide along Main Street, and four to six feet wide along with a grass buffer varying in width along 16th Street. The improvements included sidewalk pavement reconstruction, ADA compliant curb ramps, roadway signing, and pavement markings.
