enmm. trr at port <br /> PARKS AND RECREATION COMMITTEE <br /> Wu tat Mum= Mount%l of Up CV of fonutil gnu): <br /> The July 13 , 1987 meeting of the Parks and Recreation <br /> Committee was called to order by its Chairman, Councilman James <br /> Barcome, at 4: 00 p .m. in the Council informal meeting room. <br /> Persons in attendance included : Councilmen Serge, Braboy , <br /> Puzzello, Beck, Taylor, Zakrzewski, Voorde, Paszek, and Barcome; <br /> Mr. Michael Vance, Carol Sanders, Mr. James Seitz , Mr. Phil <br /> Prawzer , Mr. Robert Niezgodski , members of the news media, and <br /> Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand . <br /> Councilman Barcome noted that the first item on the agenda <br /> was a review of Bill No. 58-87 which was a bill to appropriate <br /> $108, 927.74 from the Zoo Endowment Fund , Account No. 403 , to <br /> Account No. 399, Contractual Services. <br /> Mr. Seitz , Park Superintendent, noted that the assets were <br /> received from the Estate of Susan B. Nickell for public <br /> improvements. The trustees of the will had agreed that a "prairie <br /> exhibit" could be developed. Mr. Phil Prawzer indicated that the <br /> exhibit would have buffalo, sand hill cranes, and similar types of <br /> prairie animals. He also indicated that the exhibit would be much <br /> safer than the current one.: G ^ <br /> Following discussion by the Committee, Councilman Serge made <br /> a motion , seconded by Councilman Taylor , that Bill No 58-87 <br /> receive a favorable recommendation. The motion passed . <br /> The Committee then reviewed Bill No. 64-87 which was a bill <br /> appropriating $107 ,496.00 within the Stanley Coveleski Regional <br /> Baseball Stadium Fund for 1987. Mr. Vance indicated that this was <br /> part of the commitment on the construction costs on that project <br /> from the proceeds of the cable television revenues. This was to <br /> be the last payment and was received in April for the last six (6) <br /> months of 1986. <br /> Following further discussion, Councilman Taylor made a <br /> motion, seconded by Councilman Beck, that Bill No. 64-87 receive a <br /> favorable recommendation. The motion passed . <br /> The Committee then reviewed Bill No. 66-87 which was a bill <br /> appropriating additional funds in the sum of $411 , 837.00 within <br /> the General Fund and $174,679.00 within the Park Maintenance Fund <br /> for 1987 . <br /> Mr. Vance indicated that such an ordinance would typically be <br /> acted upon in December. He then reviewed each of the line items <br /> addressed within the proposed bill . Some of the costs included <br /> $20,000 for engineering costs for the Howard Park wall , $18,000 <br /> FR[[ •R[I! ateipu •U•LISHING CO. <br />
