Parks & Recreation Committee <br /> July 13 , 1987 Minutes <br /> Page 2 <br /> for Boehm Park lighting of a softball diamond, $10,000 for repair <br /> to Island Park, $75 , 000 for in-house items for the Coveleski <br /> Stadium. He indicated that lower estimates for the excise tax had <br /> been received; thus, budgetary reductions were made at the end of <br /> the previous year as a bookkeeping measure. He then reviewed <br /> various other items from the General Fund which included $34,000 <br /> for police overtime necessary for the Special Olympics . <br /> Councilman Taylor again made a request with regard to the <br /> condition of the concrete courts at Marshall School . Mr. Seitz <br /> speculated that the costs for such repairs would be somewhere <br /> between $20,000-$25,000. Councilman Taylor and Councilman Barcome <br /> voiced strong concern with regard to this project . <br /> It was indicated that Mr. Seitz and Mr. Vance would meet with <br /> Councilmen Taylor and Barcome to further discuss this project. <br /> Following further discussion, Councilman Serge made a motion, <br /> seconded by Councilman Beck, that Bill No. 66-87 go to Council <br /> favorably . The motion passed. <br /> There being no further business to come before the <br /> Committee, the meeting was adjourned at 4 : 10 p.m. <br /> Respectfully submitted , <br /> Councilman James V.
