Page 1 of 1 <br />INTER-OFFICE MEMORANDUM <br /> DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br /> DIVISION OF ENGINEERING <br />TO: Laura Hensley, Clerk <br />Board of Public Works <br />FROM: Sarah Beam, Project Engineer <br />SUBJECT: Reject Quotes Project No. 121-032 <br />Studebaker Fountain Water Improvements <br />DATE: February 1, 2022 <br />On January 25, 2022, the Board of Public Works opened and read quotes for the Studebaker <br />Fountain Water Improvements project. <br />One quote was received from Culligan for $16,249. Culligan’s quote included only the <br />equipment price of the water softener system and brine tanks. The quote did not include the <br />materials and labor required in the quote specifications in relation to the following tasks: <br />directional drilling and installation of sanitary lines, connection to existing utilities, installation of <br />indoor plumbing and equipment, paving, earthwork, and landscape restoration. <br />I request that the Board declare the Culligan quote as non-responsive and advance the project <br />to the open market because: <br />1)The quote fails to conform in all material respects to the specifications. <br />2)The quote fails to comply specifically with the invitation to quote and the instructions to <br />quoters. <br />The project Quote Specifications and Culligan quote are attached for reference as needed. <br />Please contact me with questions. <br />Enclosures <br />February 8, 2022
