SOUTH BEND BOARD OF PARK COMMISSIONERS <br /> REGULAR MEETING <br /> NOVEMBER 19, 2012 <br /> The Board of Park Commissioners of the Park District of the City of South Bend, Indiana met on <br /> Monday November 19, 2012 at the O'Brien Administration&Recreation Center, 321 E. Walter <br /> St., South Bend, Indiana for its regular meeting. Notice of the date,time and place of the meeting <br /> were duly given as required by law. <br /> Park Board members present were as follows: <br /> Mr. Robert Goodrich,President <br /> Ms. Amy Hill,Vice President <br /> Mr. Garrett Mullins <br /> Mr. Bruce BonDurant <br /> Park Board members absent were as follows: <br /> Staff members present: Bill Carleton,Fiscal Officer; Paul McMinn,Assistant Recreation Director; <br /> Sharon Smith,Zoo Food&Beverage Manager; Richard Payton,Development Director; Mike <br /> Dyszkiewicz,Maintenance Superintendent; Mark Bradley,Marketing Director; Cheryl Greene, <br /> Park Board Attorney <br /> I. The meeting was called to order by Board President Robert Goodrich at 4:02 p.m. <br /> IL The first order of business was the interviewing of interested citizens. <br /> 1. Sara Stewart gave a report on the Unity Gardens at the conservatory and requested they <br /> be able to use the growing house. Currently,there are discussions as to what to do with <br /> that structure. Given the state of disrepair and the safety concerns, it is possible that it <br /> may be taken down. She has spoken with Director St. Clair regarding her request. An <br /> MOU was presented by Unity Gardens,but Director St. Clair wanted more discussion <br /> and detail in the agreement. Attorney Greene informed the Board that they were not at a <br /> point where they could take formal action either way. <br /> President Goodrich took her request under advisement and deferred any action until the <br /> next meeting. <br /> III. Report By Organizations <br /> 1. Potawatomi Zoological Society-No report <br /> 2. Botanical Society-Ms. Grey <br /> Ms. Grey reported on events recently held and upcoming at the Conservatory. Board of <br /> Director elections will be held soon. <br /> 3. South Bend Silver Hawks-No report <br /> IV. The next order of business was unfinished business. <br /> 1.Nonalcoholic Beverage Agreement-Mark Bradley <br /> Mr. Bradley reported that during the last month staff had met with representatives of Coca- <br /> - - I - - <br />
