Councilman Zielinski
requested an update on Clay utilities. Mr. Vance stated that its acquisition
is on the back burner and that in May of 1981 the operation cost was
increased from 5 to 8 cents per 100 cubic feet. Mr. Vance also noted that
the lawsuit pertaining to installation of water meters in the River Commons
area has not had a pre-trial yet.
Councilman Zielinski requested that Sherrie Petz prepare all of
the amendments which have been made at this meeting and the prior meeting.
She stated that she could have these amendments ready for the Utilities
meeting next Monday at 5:00 p.m.
Mr. Vance then requested that the upgrading of positions be included
in the water works budget: based on the new computerization program. He noted
that on page 74 of the Water Works General Fund that two new positions of
"systems specialists" be added at a salary of $15,266 and reduce the Clerk IV
number from 13 to 11. He also requested that the position of Fiscal Officer
be deleted and that six Supt. 'IV' s be included at the rate of $22,541. It was also
suggested that the salary ordinance which was passed by theCommon Council
earlier this year also be amended.
There being no further business to come before the joint committee
meeting, Councilman McGann made a motion seconded by Councilman Szymkowiak that
the meeting be adjourned.
