r .-,%. <br /> Councilman Voorde then called upon Joe Kernan, Rich Hill, <br /> Bonnie Strycker, Micki Dobski to explain Bill No. 83-80 pertaining <br /> to Appropriations needed for the Youth Service Bureau "Shelter" <br /> Program for a program year beginning July 1 , 1980 through June <br /> 30, 1981. Also attending this part of the meeting was Robert <br /> Potvin. <br /> Joe Kernan explained that the Youth Services Shelter would be <br /> relocated to Old Fire Station No. 11. The present location is <br /> dangerous and substandard. He highlighted that the City qualified <br /> for $19 ,449.50 of LEAA reprogrammed funds which must be used by the <br /> end of September. He stated that the projected rehabilitation costs <br /> would total $39,000. 00. <br /> Rich Hill then explained that a not-for-profit group known as <br /> Youth Facilities agreed to match funds , thus qualifying the City for <br /> the LEAA reprogrammed monies. He explained that Youth Facilities <br /> was committed to doing fund raising to raise monies. <br /> It is proposed that the City will rent the location from Youth <br /> Facilities until the mortgage is paid off; and then it will be <br /> deeded back to the City for one dollar. A five year lease is anticipated <br /> at a cost of $500.00 per month. fit was also mentioned that <br /> approximately $6,700. 00 would be available from the County from 1978 , <br /> this would be used for rental payments for the first year. <br /> The Committee was further advised that the Department of Public <br /> Works was preparing the specs for the rehabilitation work, and that a <br /> Resolution approving the Purchase Agreement would be coming before <br /> the Council in the very near future. <br /> Following a series of questions, the meeting was adjourned at <br /> 5 :45 p.m. <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> J n Vo• de, Chairman <br /> -2r, <br />
