Tummtttn rpnrt <br /> (SID tip (gum= (gum/ or QIUg of$Di$ liptnb: PERSONNEL AND FINANCE COMMITTEE <br /> The December 10, 1981 meeting of the Personnel and Finance Committee <br /> was called to order by its Chairman, Councilman Beverly D. Crone, at 1: 30 <br /> p.m. in the Council Meeting Room. <br /> Persons in attendance included: Councilmen McGann, Symkowiak, Voorde, <br /> and Crone; Carolyn Pfotenhauer, Sherrie Petz, Jim Markle, Marchmont Kovas, <br /> and Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand. • <br /> Councilman Crone explained that the purpose of the meeting was to <br /> continue the review of Bill No 129-81 which deals with permit and license <br /> fees in the Public Works area She then brought the Committee up to date in <br /> reviewing suggestions made by Mr. Markle in new areas and the new suggested <br /> fees. <br /> The Committee then reviewed the proposed fee schedule for the <br /> installation of heating, 'ventilating, air-conditioning, and referigation; <br /> and the proposed fees for the installation or alteration of electrical <br /> equipment. <br /> • <br /> Mr. Markle reviewed information with the Committee that he had <br /> recently received from the State pertaining to fee amounts. <br /> The Committee affirmed that the plumbing fees would be amended to a <br /> $5. 00 permit and a $3.00 fee per fixture. Reinspection fees would be at <br /> $10. 00. <br /> Mr. Markle then reviewed his suggested changes for wrecking and <br /> demolition permits by residential and commercial categories. He suggested <br /> doubling the house moving fees in light of the advertising costs, the review <br /> by traffic and lighting and the review by the Board of Public Works. <br /> Sidewalk occupancy permits were recommended to be amended to include <br /> all street and sidewalk occupancy. The Committee suggested a fee of $20. 00 <br /> from the present fee of $10. 00 and would call the permit a Public Occupancy <br /> permit. <br /> Mr. Markle suggested doubling all sign ordinance fees in light of <br /> the required checks and inspections made by the City. He noted that the <br /> present provisions are contained in chapters 3, 6, and 21, and looked forward <br /> to the Council arranging all such provisions into one chapter at a future <br /> date. The Committee suggested that the billboard fee be increased to $25.00. <br /> Following a considerable amount of discussion the Committee recommended <br /> that portable temporary signs and wood stoves be specifically addressed in a <br /> future ordinance that would incorporate all public works fees into. one:-chapter. <br /> The Committee then reviewed the licensing fees for Heating and <br /> Electrical contractors and suggested changes that would make the license fees <br /> similar in natures. The Committee further suggested that the Class C <br /> Electrical License dealing with projectors be eliminated. The Committee <br /> suggested that the Plumbers registration fee remain as is since it was recently <br /> reviewed. <br /> FRU FRNII adefoo FU•L1 5NING CO. <br />
