�52 <br />The Board met in regular session at 10 A. M. Mr. Papczynski absent. <br />Bids were opened for Water Connections on South Bend avenue and on North Taylor <br />street. Contracts were awarded to Thomas Williams, the lowest and best bidder. <br />Engineer reported grade on St. Louis street. Same was approved. <br />Application filed by --,the Kalamazoo, Elkhart & South Bend Traction Railroad <br />Company for a franchise to enter the City with an interurban railway. <br />Hearing given on Assessment Roll and final estimate for Cement sidewalks on <br />S. Lafayette street from Calvert street to Ewing avenue, under Improvement Resolution <br />No. 454. <br />No further remonstrants appeared and no.f'urther-remonstrances'weee filed. All <br />other remonstrances were over -ruled. The Board therefore find that.the property <br />assessed in said rolls filed September 21st, 1906, is benefitted in the amount of <br />assessments as shown on said rolls and the Board further find that the assessment <br />roll filed September 21st, 1906, and the final estimate allowed September 21st, 19067 <br />should be and the same is hereby in all things ratified, confirmed and approved. <br />Engineer filed Assessment Rolls and final estimates for Brick Pavement on <br />Washington street from.College street to Olive street; Brick pavement on Alley <br />South of Washington street from Lafayette street to Court street; Brick Pavement on <br />Alley west of Main street from Wayne street to Division street, Grade & Walk on <br />Michigan avenue from Wilber street to Olive street, Pipe Sewer on Perkins street <br />from Chapin street to Laurel street, allunder Improvement Resolutions Nos. 326, 350, <br />3512 363 & 372 respectively. <br />Resolved, that notices as to the amounts of assessments be published for six <br />consecutive days in the South Bend Daily Times, commencing on the 8th day of October, <br />1906, stating that this Board will give a hearing on the amount of such assessments at <br />its office in the City Hall on the 16th day of October, 1906, at 7:15 P. M. <br />Resolved further, that the entire work under the above contracts <br />and approved and the final estimate thereon allowed. Notice of this <br />be published on the 8th day of October 1906,,in the South Bend Daily <br />that this Board will give a hearing on the acceptance of such work at <br />the City Hall on the 16th day of October, 1906, at 7:15 P.
