�52 The Board met in regular session at 10 A. M. Mr. Papczynski absent. Bids were opened for Water Connections on South Bend avenue and on North Taylor street. Contracts were awarded to Thomas Williams, the lowest and best bidder. Engineer reported grade on St. Louis street. Same was approved. Application filed by --,the Kalamazoo, Elkhart & South Bend Traction Railroad Company for a franchise to enter the City with an interurban railway. Hearing given on Assessment Roll and final estimate for Cement sidewalks on S. Lafayette street from Calvert street to Ewing avenue, under Improvement Resolution No. 454. No further remonstrants appeared and no.f'urther-remonstrances'weee filed. All other remonstrances were over -ruled. The Board therefore find that.the property assessed in said rolls filed September 21st, 1906, is benefitted in the amount of assessments as shown on said rolls and the Board further find that the assessment roll filed September 21st, 1906, and the final estimate allowed September 21st, 19067 should be and the same is hereby in all things ratified, confirmed and approved. Engineer filed Assessment Rolls and final estimates for Brick Pavement on Washington street from.College street to Olive street; Brick pavement on Alley South of Washington street from Lafayette street to Court street; Brick Pavement on Alley west of Main street from Wayne street to Division street, Grade & Walk on Michigan avenue from Wilber street to Olive street, Pipe Sewer on Perkins street from Chapin street to Laurel street, allunder Improvement Resolutions Nos. 326, 350, 3512 363 & 372 respectively. Resolved, that notices as to the amounts of assessments be published for six consecutive days in the South Bend Daily Times, commencing on the 8th day of October, 1906, stating that this Board will give a hearing on the amount of such assessments at its office in the City Hall on the 16th day of October, 1906, at 7:15 P. M. Resolved further, that the entire work under the above contracts and approved and the final estimate thereon allowed. Notice of this be published on the 8th day of October 1906,,in the South Bend Daily that this Board will give a hearing on the acceptance of such work at the City Hall on the 16th day of October, 1906, at 7:15 P.
