CITY OF SOUTH BEND: COAL LINE TRAIL (PHASE II) 5 <br />OUR TEAM’S CONSTRUCTION INSPECTION DELIVERY SERVICES <br />Our team understands the constructfon inspectfon services required that will ensure your project is built in accordance with contract <br />documents, uses quality materials, and reinforces top-level workmanship. We implement a well-defined process that consistently delivers <br />quality projects. Our approach includes the following items: <br />PROJECT APPROACH <br />PLANS THAT WORK <br />Our experience has shown us that a complete understanding of the <br />contract documents delivers the best possible project. We <br />accomplish this by completfng the following reviews prior to <br />constructfon: <br />» Compare plan documents, special provisions vs. item list, & <br />plans vs. field conditfons <br />» Review project commitments <br />» Check quantfty calculatfons vs. pay item list <br />» Understand right-of-way documents, specifically cost-to-cure <br />items to avoid misunderstandings <br />» Verify utflity agreements vs. special provision tfme-line <br />requirements <br />» Understand permits & environmental requirements <br /> <br />STAYING ON TRACK - MAINTAINING THE SCHEDULE & <br />MITIGATING POTENTIAL ISSUES <br />» Antfcipate potentfal delays & offer solutfons to mitfgate impacts <br />» Remain ready & willing to address any & all issues quickly & <br />efficiently <br />» Have the right staff available to provide the right solutfon the <br />first tfme <br />» Maintain scheduled project meetfngs <br />ORGANIZED SET UP <br />» Pre-constructfon meetfng <br />» Files <br />» Each pay item <br />» Correspondence <br />» Requests for informatfon <br />» Change orders & pay requests <br />» Weekly reports & project pictures <br />» Meetfng minutes <br />» Sign & barricade reports <br />» Payrolls <br />» Testfng frequency & items <br />» Certfficatfons & material tfckets <br />» Failed materials <br />» Submissions to INDOT lab <br />DOCUMENTATION <br />» Final Record - INDOT forms & item documentatfon <br />» SiteManager - Daily & weekly reports, diaries, material record <br />informatfon, pay requests, & change orders <br />» Monitor erosion control plan <br />» Manage failed materials <br />» Maintain as-built mark-up throughout constructfon <br />» Closely monitor project schedule <br />» Schedule & coordinate preliminary & final close out <br />» Log complaints, accidents, & calls - follow-up resolutfon <br />» Monitor closely the contractor schedule <br />» Ensure subcontractor approvals <br />» Complete the final constructfon record in accordance with <br />INDOT requirements & within INDOT’s required tfmeline of 45 <br />days after contractor’s last day of work <br /> <br />TIMELY COMMUNICATION <br />» Work with the City to provide a professional & positfve <br />experience for impacted residents & businesses <br />» Going above and beyond what is required to ensure public <br />satfsfactfon <br />» Address owner’s concerns & questfons quickly, & stay within <br />the planned budget <br /> <br />ADHERING TO INDOT REQUIREMENTS <br />» Our team has constructed & inspected INDOT & LPA projects <br />for over 35 years, giving them a high level of knowledge & <br />familiarity with INDOT’s policies, procedures, & expectatfons <br />» We are well respected by INDOT’s LaPorte District which leads <br />to an effectfve liaison with INDOT for the City of South Bend <br />» Our team will make sure that all INDOT requirements are met <br />while stfll meetfng the City’s expectatfons; this is your project & <br />we strive to be an extension of your team <br />Based on the antfcipated lead tfme and permit restrictfons, we <br />recommend phasing constructfon: <br />» Start trail constructfon on or after May 16, 2022 with <br />completfon 1-2 weeks before the first day of classes on <br />August 22, 2022. <br />» Bridge constructfon could begin April 1, 2022. Due to lead <br />tfmes and cleaning/paintfng of the beams, we antfcipate <br />completfng constructfon around October 2022.
