MR. WESAW: Okay. Thank you. I forgot to give you our address. Our building is located at 58620 Sink
Road, Dowagiac,Michigan. So.the Special Exception use we're asking for is for government use. It would be
a satellite office to our main campus which is in Dowagiac. We would estimate that our Indiana office in
Mishawaka right now we have about 20 customers a month. We do have a high concentration of Pokagon
citizens in the South Bend area, northern Indiana, about 500 so we think that our data would show that we
would probably triple that. So we would like to see probably 60 to 90 citizens we would serve a month in our
building. Some of the services we would provide are tutoring for our young students. Enrollment into our
programs, our education programs, housing, financial empowerment and social services. All the parking is in
the back. We have enough parking spaces for about 9 vehicles and we think that would be sufficient. There
will be no improvements or construction to modify the exterior of the house. We take into great consideration
to make sure that the exterior was preserved and also matches what you guys have in the district.
MR. CRUMLISH: The structure is currently a residence?
MR. WESAW: Yes sir.
MR. URBANSKI: Is it occupied at the present time?
MR. WESAW: No sir. We would have one full time employee.
MR. PHIPPS: Are you putting in a new parking area?
MR. WESAW: No sir. The parking and the driveway that are currently with the structure is probably going to
be sufficient for our use at this time.
MR. PHIPPS: The staff has some pictures of the parking behind the building but at least from the drawing
that's where it is. You aren't planning on putting any parking in front of the building?
MR. WESAW: No sir. I think it would be good flow and it would keep the vehicles off the road and a good
location for it.
MR. HAWLEY: Is anyone living on the property on a daily basis through the evening and the night time?
MR. WESAW: No sir. The office hours would be 8-5 on Monday through Friday and we would be closed on
holidays.
MR. YOUNG: Do you have any type of proposed signage?
MR. WESAW: We would like to put some signage up. Of course we would want to make sure that is in
accordance with your regulations.
MR. YOUNG: And the other structures behind the house, they're all going to stay?
29
