<br />Version 08/25/2021 Page - 7 Public Works Quote <br />Specification are valid and the current INDOT Standard Specifications and current INDOT Standard <br />Drawings which conflict are voided and the remainder of the current INDOT Standard Specifications <br />and current INDOT Standard Drawing shall be valid. Any not covered specifically by the Project <br />Specifications shall be referred to the Standard Specifications and Standard Drawings, and these will <br />be the governing factors for the project. The current INDOT Standard Specifications and current INDOT <br />Standard Drawings are available on-site at the INDOT website: http://www.in.gov/indot/. The Engineer <br />is available prior to the submission of bids/quotes regarding any bidder questions on accessing the <br />current INDOT Standard Specifications and/or current INDOT Standard Drawings. <br /> <br />C. Utility Locations <br />For protection of underground utilities, Contractor shall call Indiana’s Utility Location Service at 1 (800) <br />382-5544 a minimum o three (3) working days prior to excavating in the vicinity of utility lines. All 811 <br />alert system participating members will thus be routinely notified. The Contractor shall be responsible <br />for notifying any and all utility owners who may not be part of the 811 alert system. The Contractor <br />shall be responsible for successfully coordinating with all affected existing utilities in the vicinity of the <br />project whether all utilities are indicated in the Contract Documents or not. The Contractor shall be <br />solely responsible for any and all coordination, payment, and full resolution of any damages to utilities <br />resulting from actions and/or omissions of the Contractor. <br /> <br />D. Pre-Bid/Quote Meeting <br />A Pre-Bid/Quote Meeting shall be held on-site at the North Pumping Station at 830 N. Michigan Street, <br />South Bend, Indiana 46601 from 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. on Friday, October 1, 2021. If a bidder is <br />unable to attend, bidders may contact Jacob M. Klosinski, P.E., Assistant City Engineer at (574) 235- <br />9496 or jklosins@southbendin.gov to schedule a site visit prior to submission of a quotation for the <br />subject project. <br /> <br />E. Pre-Construction Meeting <br />Approximately one (1) week prior to the start of construction, the Contractor shall request a pre- <br />construction meeting with the Owner and the Project Engineer to discuss the Contractor’s project <br />schedule and operations. <br /> <br />F. Underground Conditions <br />The Contractor shall perform any sub-surface investigations necessary to become familiar with local <br />conditions prior to bidding. There shall be no compensation for investigation work. <br /> <br />G. Projects Occurring in the Vicinity of the Work <br />Project No. 119-011 North Station Filter Rehabilitation work is scheduled to begin in December 2021 <br />or January 2022. This work should not impact the work occurring under Project No. 118-302R North <br />Pumping Station Flood Damage Repairs. It is important that all exterior work be completed on-schedule <br />since staging areas for Project No. 119-011 North Station Filter Rehabilitation will utilize areas restored <br />during Project No. 118-302R North Pumping Station Flood Damage Repairs. <br /> <br />H. Bidder Questions <br />All Bidder questions during the bidding process shall be directed to Jacob Yoder, of Frost Engineering <br />and Consulting at (574) 344-5900 or jyoder@frosteng.com. <br /> <br />I. The deadline for the submittal of Bidder questions to be considered for possible addendum is <br />close of business on Wednesday, October 6, 2021. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
