" The South Bend Common Council's Standing Committee Report from the <br /> Community end Economic Development Committee <br /> Council Member Coleman then made a motion, seconded by Council Member Kuspa <br /> that Bill No. 04-68 be recommended favorably to Council. The motion passed. <br /> Council Member Kelly then called for a presentation on Bill No. 04-69 which is a five <br /> (5)year residential real property tax abatement request of Cleland Builders,Inc. for various <br /> addresses in Jade Crossing Subdivision, Section Two. <br /> Terry J. O'Brien,an Economic Development Specialist,then reviewed his report dated <br /> June 23, 2004 (copy attached). He noted that the petitioner plans to have thirty (30)stick-built <br /> homes built with the average cost of each home being$150,000. The report concluded that the <br /> petitioner qualifies for a five-year residential tax abatement under Section 2-77.1 of the South <br /> Bend Municipal Code addressing"Single Family Real Property Abatement". <br /> Bernie Feeney of Lang,Feeney and Associates,Inc. with offices at 715 South Michigan <br /> Street, South Bend,Indiana 46601 made the presentation. He noted that Phase I has been very <br /> successful.Phase 2 homes will be somewhat larger and is expected to be as successful as Phase <br /> 1. <br /> Council Member Coleman then made a motion,seconded by Council Member Kuspa <br /> that Bill No. 04-69 be recommended favorably to Council.
