CITY OF SOUTH BEND HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />Upon a motion by Patrick Deegan, seconded by Eric Stalheim, and carried by vote, <br />the Historic Preservation Commission APPROVES Certificate of Appropriateness <br />Application #2021-0607A. <br />Vote: 4-1. Four in favor, One opposed. <br />COA #2021-0607A is approved. <br />ix. 2021-05078 1717 East Wayne Street East Wayne Street, Ordinance #7796-87 <br />(Audio Position: 2:37:37) <br />The staff report was presented by Adam Toering. <br />Staff Recommendation: Staff recommends approval with conditions: that the project <br />be remanded to staff, pending additional information / schematics showing that the <br />addition will not adversely impact the existing garage, that it will be clad in the same <br />siding as the house and garage, and that the foundation and roof line will comply with <br />building code requirements. <br />The applicant was represented by: <br />N/A <br />The public was represented by <br />N/A <br />After due consideration, the following action was taken: <br />Upon a motion by Eric Stalheim, seconded by John Tiffany, and carried by vote, the <br />Historic Preservation Commission DENIES Certificate of Appropriateness Application <br />#2021-050713. <br />Commissioner Tiffany (AYE): I deny because it is not complete, it is missing <br />information <br />Commissioner Wyncott (AYE): I deny because it lacks complete information <br />including further drawings of elevations and concerns about the materials proposed <br />to be used. <br />Commissioner Stalheim (AYE): I deny because I feel this application is incomplete <br />and without the property owner present or a representative it is challenging to ask <br />questions. <br />Commissioner Deegan (ABSTAIN): <br />Commissioner Downs-Krostenko (AYE): I deny because I have concerns about <br />the application being incomplete including elevation drawings and it is not clear that <br />architecturally the slope and elevation of the shed are workable, I am concerned <br />about what the foundation is supposed to be like, I am concerned the applicant has <br />Page 16 <br />
