This Pay Item shall include all labor and materials to remove portions of existing chain link fence <br />section and posts to provide access to existing pond area to be excavated and the resetting and <br />restoration of the fence along the current alignment. <br />2. Existing fence section is approximately six-foot of chain link fabric, with three additional strands of <br />barbed wire above the fabric. <br />3. Replacement fabric and posts shall match the existing fence material as close as practical. <br />Barbed wire sections removed for project access shall be neatly terminated at the nearest <br />existing post outside of the limits to be reset and not replaced within the limits of fence to be <br />reset. <br />4. Prevailing Specifications: 2020, INDOT Standard Specifications Section 621, 914.01, 914.03, 914.04 <br />B. Additions: <br /> <br />1. Fertilizer shall be applied at a rate of 800 pounds per acre. Fertilizer shall not be paid for <br />separately, but shall be considered incidental to the seeding operations on the Project. <br />2. Permanent seeding shall be INDOT seed mixture, Type U. <br />3. Topsoil shall be placed below the areas to be seeded and shall consist of natural loam, sandy <br />loam, silty loam, silty clay loam, or clay loam humus-bearing soils adapted to the sustenance of <br />plant life and such topsoil shall be neither excessively acidic nor excessively alkaline in <br />accordance with INDOT Standard Specification 914.01. Topsoil shall be screened such that 100 <br />percent of the topsoil passes the one 1” sieve and 95 percent passes the No. 10 (2.00 mm) sieve. <br />Topsoil shall be a minimum of 6” deep. Topsoil shall not be compacted by heavy equipment. <br />4. Topsoil obtained from within the limits of construction shall not be paid for directly but shall be <br />considered incidental to the project. Topsoil obtained from outside the project limits which has <br />been tested and documented shall be paid for on a volumetric basis. <br />5. Prevailing Specifications: 2020, INDOT Standard Specifications Section 720 <br />B. Additions: <br /> <br />1. This Pay Item shall include the removal and disposal of existing castings shown on the Plans to <br />be replaced, as well as the materials and labor for the new replacement casting. <br />2. Identifying marks were not observed on the existing casting. The approximate equivalent grate <br />casting may be R-2561-A, by Neenah Foundry. <br />3. The Contractor shall verify the dimensions of the existing casting prior to removal, ordering or <br />fabrication of the replacement casting. The new casting shall be of equal or greater materials <br />than the existing casting and shall be of the same existing dimensions confirmed by the <br />Contractor. <br />4. The Contractor shall submit a Shop Drawing of the proposed replacement casting for the project. <br />5. The Owner does not object to the reuse of the existing frame, if a suitable replacement grate can <br />be utilized that conforms to the dimensions of the existing frame. Otherwise, the Contractor shall
