ORDINANCE NO. <br />A SECOND ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE 9790 -07 FIXING MAXIMUM <br />SALARIES AND WAGES OFAPPOINTED OFFICERS AND NON - BARGAINING <br />EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, FOR THE <br />CALENDAR YEAR 2008 <br />STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT <br />The Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, adopted Ordinance 9790 -07 on <br />September 24, 2007, which established the annual compensation for all non - bargaining employee positions <br />with the City of South Bend for calendar year 2008. This Ordinance was subsequently amended in 2008 <br />by Ordinance No. 9829 -08 to increase City employee salaries from 2% to 3 %. It is now determined that <br />Ordinance 9790 -07 be amended once more to add the position of Residential Specialist for the Department <br />of Community and Economic Development, reduce the Project Analyst position, eliminate one CED <br />Specialist VI position, and to provide for a Communications Specialist I to be used for the <br />Communications Department entry level hires. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, as follows: <br />Section I. The following positions are hereby established: <br />Position 2007 2008 <br />Residential Marketing Specialist NIA 55,000 <br />Communications Specialist I N/A 28,000 <br />Section II. The position of CED Specialist VI with a salary of $47,527 is hereby eliminated <br />completely from Ordinance No. 9790 -07. <br />Section III. The position of Project Analyst is hereby reduced from a full -time position with a salary of <br />$46,898 to a part time position at a rate of $22.00 per hour. <br />Section W. All other Sections and paragraphs of Ordinance Numbers 9790 -07 and 9829 -08 are hereby <br />reaffirmed and shall remain in full force and effect as provided for in Ordinance Numbers 9790 -07 and 9829- <br />08. <br />Section V.
