2) 115 St. James Ct. - Central High School - LL - NRHP <br />The proposal is tvio-fold but related: <br />Part 1 <br />The architect for the owner• proposes a new site plan which <br />includes: <br />a) relocation of parking spaces in St. James Ct. away <br />from elliptical stone entry; Mr. Nimtz moved to accept <br />staff recommendation; Mr. I-4ewbur•n seconded; motion <br />approved. <br />b) repair of elliptical stone entry and return of <br />flagpole to its original position; Mr. Nimtz moved to <br />accept staff recommendation; Mr. Neviburn seconded; motion <br />approved. <br />c) installation of a handicapped ramp to replace south <br />steps to lower level at original main entrance; Mr. <br />Newburn moved to accept staff recommendation which <br />includes requested approval of specific design data; Mr. <br />Nimtz seconded; motion approved. <br />d) restoration of 1914 landscape plan from known physical <br />data; Mr•. Gxian moved to approve staff recommendation; <br />Mr. Newburn seconded; motion approved. <br />e) removal of chain -link fence; Mr•. Nimtz moved to <br />approve staff recommendation; Mr. Herendeen seconded; Mr. <br />Or, i an against; motion approved. <br />f) construction of new entry on west facade reusing stone <br />portal from VoTec building; Mr. Newbur•n moved to approve <br />as written with the understanding that it implies <br />demolition of the VoTec building and the bo i 1 er•house ; Mr. <br />Nimtz seconded; 3 for 4 against; motion denied. The <br />motion was denied for -the following reasons: 1) lack of <br />sufficient documentation; 2) HPC had not approved the <br />demolition of VoTec building. <br />Hr. Hayes moved to allow construction of new entry on <br />west facade pending design approval by the HPC; Hr. <br />Ne4,lburn seconded; 5 for, 1 against, chair abstained. <br />Part 2 <br />The proposal includes the removal of the VoTec Building <br />and boilerhouse and construction of new parking lot with <br />additional landscaping on west side of building in <br />context t•,iith original plan. Mr. Oxian moved to table <br />Part 2 for 30 days in order to confer with architects and <br />So. Bend School Corp. and requested more substantial <br />information be submitted in order to determine an <br />appropriate decision; Mr. Herendeen seconded; 3 for, 3 <br />against; Mr•s. Sporl eder• voted in favor of tabling; vote 4 <br />for, 3 aga.inst; motion approved. <br />B. Historic Landmarks <br />No Report <br />July 18, 1988 PACE 2 <br />
