<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Molnar, seconded by Mr. Gathers and carried by roll call, the above
<br />bids were referred to Engineering and Community Investment for review and recommendation.
<br />AWARD OUOTATION AND APPROVE CONTRACT — PINHOOK KITCHEN ELECTRIC —
<br />VPA PROJECT NO. 1301-2021 (PR-00007307)
<br />Mr. Patrick Sherman, Venues, Parks & Arts, advised the Board that on February 16, 2021,
<br />quotations were received and opened for the above referenced project. After reviewing those
<br />quotations, Mr. Sherman recommended that the Board award the contract to the lowest
<br />responsive and responsible bidder, Koontz -Wagner Services, 3801 Voorde Dr., South Bend, IN
<br />46628, in the amount of $5,230 for electrical work by licensed electrician as part of Pinhook
<br />Park kitchen remodel. Therefore, Mr. Molnar made a motion that the recommendation be
<br />accepted, and the quotation be awarded, and the contract approved as outlined above. Mr.
<br />Gathers seconded the motion, which carried by roll call.
<br />AWARD QUOTATION AND APPROVE CONTRACT — FORMER SALVATION ARMY
<br />BUILDING HVAC REPAIRS — PROJECT NO. 119-084C (PR-00007113)
<br />Mr. Zach Hurst, Engineering, advised the Board that on February 9, 2021, quotations were
<br />received and opened for the above referenced project. After reviewing those quotations, Mr.
<br />Hurst recommended that the Board award the contract to the lowest responsive and responsible
<br />bidder, Edward J. White, Inc., 1011 S. Michigan St., South Bend, IN 46601, in the amount of
<br />$42,450. Therefore, Mr. Molnar made a motion that the recommendation be accepted, and the
<br />quotation be awarded, and the contract approved as outlined above. Mr. Gathers seconded the
<br />motion, which carried by roll call.
<br />APPROVAL OF REOUEST TO REJECT BIDS — TWO (2) MORE OR LESS. 2020 OR
<br />NEWER, TRAILER MOUNTED ANTI -ICING SYSTEM — SPEC U (PR-00005495)
<br />In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. Jeff Hudak, Central Services, requested permission to reject
<br />all bids for the above referenced project due to incompatibility with the City of South Bend's
<br />existing equipment. Ms. Maradik suggested the Board also approve a Request to Advertise, in
<br />the event of a need to move forward quickly. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Molnar,
<br />seconded by Mr. Gathers and carried by roll call, the above request to reject bids and future
<br />request to advertise were approved.
