Kernan, Mayor <br /> X111 " 1865 "�— <br /> Department of Administration and Finance <br /> Katherine Humphreys, Director <br /> December 16, 1988 <br /> Members of the Common Council <br /> 4th Floor County-City Building <br /> South Bend, Indiana 46601 <br /> Re: Bill No. 127-88 <br /> Salaries and Wages of City Employees <br /> Dear Council Members: <br /> The attached Bill would amend Ordinance No. 7896-88 which <br /> established the salaries and wages for appointed officers <br /> and employees of the City of South Bend for calendar year <br /> 1989. <br /> During the review of the Civil City Budget and in reviewing <br /> Ordinance No. 7896-88, it became apparent that in the <br /> Department of Parks and Recreation and in the Bureau of <br /> Cemeteries, the salaries for a position in each was listed <br /> incorrectly. Additionally in the Bureau of Building <br /> Maintenance, the position of Janitor was omitted although <br /> this position was included elsewhere in the salary ordinance <br /> and was properly included by position and salary amount in <br /> the budget which the Council approved. Technical language <br /> to clarify the wording addressing "sick leave" and <br /> "holidays" has also been addressed. <br /> Each of these concerns have been addressed in Bill No. 127- <br /> 88 by proper amendment. <br /> I seek your favorable action on this Bill and look forward <br /> to discussing it with you at the meeting on December 21, <br /> 1988.
