Mr. Gilot stated the Cost Proposals would not be opened until the <br />review committee has made a selection based on the scoring matrix. After reviewing those bids, Chief Cox <br />recommended that the Board award the contract to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder <br />Hoosier Fire Equipment, Inc., 4009 Montdale Park Drive, Valparaiso, Indiana 46383, in the <br />amount of $730,095.50 for the Base Bid plus Options No. 6,7, 8, 9, and 13. Chief Cox noted in <br />his memo that the City will receive $395,303.60 in assistance from the Federal Government <br />through a grant, and the City will be responsible for the remaining $334,791.90. Chief Cox <br />clarified the discrepancy in the amounts was due to the finding that the grant will only reimburse <br />the number of units for the total amount of seats in the front -line apparatus, which totals seventy - <br />eight (78), rather than the original request of one - hundred, thirty units (130). Therefore, Mr. Inks <br />made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the bid be awarded and the contract <br />approved subject to financing. Ms. Roos seconded the motion, which carried. <br />AWARD QUOTATION — 27TH STREET LIFT STATION AND CSO 39 -- WET WELL SLAB <br />IMPROVEMENTS_= PROJECT NO._112- 051(WASTE WATER CAPITAL) <br />Rick Smigielski, Environmental Services, advised the Board that on October 9, 2012, quotations <br />were received and opened for the above referenced project. After reviewing those quotations, <br />Mr. Smigielski recommended that the Board award the contract to the lowest responsive and <br />responsible bidder, Rieth -Riley Construction Company, Inc., 25200 State Road 23, South Bend, <br />
