Taylor, Fire Chief
July 20, 1989
South Bend Common Council
County-City Building
South Bend, IN 46601
Honorable Council Members :
Attached please find a proposed ordinance revising user fees
charged by the Emergency Medical Services. Changes in fees are
for mileage, advanced life support and CPR. In addition, there
are new charges for defibrillation, O.B, delivery and body
removal.
We have also changed Section II from 54% of the revenue to the
general fund to a quarterly transfer of $38,500. We have agreed
with Katherine Humphreys, City Controller, that the General Fund
will receive $142,000 . in 1989 and $154,000 annually thereafter,
payable in quarterly installments.
At the informal council session on June 14, 1989, Assistant Chief
Rick Switalski and myself discussed the user fee increase and the
two year capital improvement needs of the department were presented.
The increase in revenue and the adjustment of revenue to the
General Fund will allow the department to meet the capital needs
for the next two years.
•
Please contact me if you have any questions .
Sincerely,
C4.
