North Shore Drive Bank Stabilization <br />Addendum #1 Contractor Questions <br />1. Can you provide an attendance list to the pre-bid meeting? <br />A: See attendance list and agenda from pre-bid conference attached to this addendum. <br />2. With the anticipated start and completion date, we have been unable to locate an asphalt <br />contractor to perform asphalt work due to plant shut down and time of year. May road and <br />concrete curb repair work wait until spring once the asphalt plants open back up? <br />A: DNR has indicated a willingness to issue a temporary waiver for work to be completed <br />starting May 10, 2021. This will allow all in -stream, asphalt and curb repair work to take place in <br />the same mobilization. <br />3. It looks like this project could potentially start in January and is scheduled to be complete with <br />in 45 calendar days for all work. Our concern is what happens if we have a hard winter this year <br />and the ground freezes up really bad. Will the awarded contractor be able to finish this project <br />in April? <br />A: Refer to Question and Answer #2 for details on timeframe of completed work. <br />4. Do you have the AEP contact for the relocation work? <br />A: Please see Sheet 2 of the plans. Relocation will be coordinated by the City prior to contractor <br />work commencing. <br />5. The pay item for class 1 rip rap shows a quantity of 800 tons. The 800 tons seems very high. Can <br />the engineer please confirm this quantity or explain his calculation? <br />A: This quantity is based off an estimated 325 LF of rock placement at 2' thick with an average <br />slope length of 12-14'. Some excess riprap assumed to fill void near exposed utility. <br />6. Is there a link to MBE/WBE approved contractors on the City website or elsewhere? <br />A: The City does not have such a list. <br />7. What is the Participation Goal for MBE/WBE? <br />A: There is no participation goal for this project. <br />8. May we use Bio -D Blocks for the soil lifts with equivalent coir mat instead of using soil forms? <br />A: Yes. <br />9. The drawings show planting the bottom row of shrubs between the lift and stone without <br />adding soil. Without soil survivability would be very low. Should soil be added? <br />A: Yes, a thin layer of soil (3" minimum) should be incorporated between lifts. <br />10. Is all silt fence to be installed with steel posts or may wooden posts be used? <br />A: Metal or wood posts are acceptable. <br />
