Committee raise the retirement benefits received by <br /> of the Whole surviving spouses of deceased firefighters or <br /> police officers. <br /> Stephen Luecke You will recall that earlier this summer the <br /> First District South Bend Common Council met to discuss the <br /> possibility of raising such benefits. We <br /> Donald Niezgodski listened intently to many of the widows and <br /> Second District their concerns in trying to meet their financial <br /> Wi obligations when their only source of income is <br /> William Soderberg District DSoict the pension benefit received from the City. The <br /> Council and the City Administration were <br /> Ann Puzzello cognizant of these concerns when it reviewed the <br /> Fourth District civil city budget for the calendar year 1990. <br /> Lions Slavinskas The following Bill would raise such benefits <br /> Fifth District from the current level of 30% of the first class <br /> Thomas Zakrzewski firefighters or first class police officer <br /> Sixth District salary, to 35% of such salaries. <br /> Sean Coleman We recommend that this Bill be sent to the <br /> At Large Personnel and Finance Committee for further <br /> review and recommendation and then placed for <br /> Loretta Duda public hearing and second and third readings at <br /> At Large the meeting of the Common Council on December <br /> John Voorde 18, 1989. <br /> At Large <br /> Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand <br /> Council Attorney <br />
