South Bend, Indiana 46601 -1830 Phone 574/235 -9371 Fax 574/235 -9021 To: Redevelopment Commission From: David Relos, Economic Development Planner' Subject: Professional Services Agreement Addendum— The Troyer Group Memorial Hospital Area Fagade Improvements Date: October 25, 2012 On December 13, 2011, the Commission approved a Professional Services Agreement with the Troyer Group. This agreement was undertaken as part of the improvements in and around the Memorial Hospital campus, and to specifically create a unified look of the buildings on the east side of Michigan St., including the Skywalk over this main thoroughfare leading into downtown South Bend. The December 2011 agreement with Troyer was to have them finalize facade designs, prepare construction bid specs, project bidding evaluation, and construction oversight. We are currently in the construction oversight phase of these fagade improvements. As the project progressed, it was discovered there were undocumented underground utilities where the foundation of the west tower supports were to be placed. This discovery required a redesign of the tower, which has led to additional work outside the scope of the original agreement. Cost for these additional services is $3,500. Staff requests approval of this Professional Services Agreement Addendum in an amount of $3,500. What We Do Today Makes A Difference!
