Prevailing Specifications: 2020, INDOT Standard Specifications Section 205 <br />B. Additions: <br /> <br />1. Temporary erosion and sediment control shall be provided to prevent disturbed soil from leaving <br />the project site and shall include perimeter protection, temporary surface stabilization, concentrated <br />flow protection, concrete washouts, and other items as shown on the plans and described in <br />Section 205 as required. <br />2. This work will not be measured for payment separately but shall be paid at the contract unit price <br />for TEMPORARY EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL (LS). <br /> <br />XXIV. COMMON EXCAVATION <br /> <br />A. Prevailing Specifications: 2020, INDOT Standard Specifications Section 203 <br />B. Additions: <br /> <br />1. The Contractor shall keep all public roadways, row, and sidewalks that are used for hauling <br />excavation or borrow material clean and free of any spillage of material. Said public areas shall be <br />cleaned on a daily basis. The cost of removal of any spillage shall be included in the unit cost of <br />excavation or borrow material and no further compensation will be made. Failure to comply with this <br />requirement will result in cleaning of the spillage by the Owner with a back charge of two hundred <br />fifty dollars ($250.00) per occurrence. <br />2. The Contractor shall field verify the location of all utilities prior to beginning work. <br />3. The quantities of excavation shown on the proposal sheet will not be measured separately by the <br />Engineer. If the Contactor has acceptable data that indicates a excavation quantity error by more <br />than 10%, then additional measurements will be performed by the Contractor and submitted to the <br />Engineer for review and determination. Measurement will not include material excavated beyond <br />authorized limits. If the quantity error is agreed by the Engineer, then the unit price on the proposal <br />form will be extended. <br />4. This item in this described work shall be paid for at the contract unit price for COMMON <br />EXCAVATION per cubic yard (CYS). <br /> <br />XXV. COMPACTED AGGREGATE <br /> <br />A. Prevailing Specifications: City of South Bend Design and Construction Standards 2020, INDOT <br />Standard Specification Sections 105, 207, 301, and 303. <br />B. Additions: <br /> <br />1. All coarse aggregate shall be Class D or higher of the specified size. The cost of placing, <br />compacting, water and incidentals necessary for placement shall be included in the cost of the <br />compacted aggregate. <br />2. The condition of the subgrade at the time paving material is placed is required to be in accordance <br />with INDOT Standard Specifications 105.03 and 207.03. <br />3. The material type shall be either natural washed stone or limestone placed on geotextile. Materials <br />such as crushed concrete and slag which are susceptible to leachate shall not be permitted. <br />4. The quantities of compacted aggregate shown on the proposal sheet will not be measured <br />separately by the Engineer. If the Contactor has acceptable data that indicates a compacted <br />aggregate quantity error by more than 10%, then additional measurements will be performed by the <br />Contractor and submitted to the Engineer for review and determination. Measurement will not <br />include material installed beyond authorized limits. If the quantity error is agreed by the Engineer, <br />then the unit price on the proposal form will be extended. <br />5. The accepted quantity of COMPACTED AGGREGATE, NO. 8 will be paid for at the contract unit <br />price per ton (TON), complete in place. <br /> <br />
