SPECIFICATIONS FOR A 2020 OR NEWER VACUUM AIR STREET SWEEPER <br />It is the intent of these specifications to describe a vacuum air dual sweep street sweeper on a <br />conventional cab and chassis with dual steering. The unit shall be bid as a compete unit, no split <br />or partial bids will be accepted. Units bid shall have been manufactured in the USA. Units to be <br />bid with and without trade-ins. Vendor to complete bid proposal, trade-in, and <br />nondiscrimination commitment contained in this bid specification and attach to the submitted <br />bid. <br />These specifications are the minimum scope of the technology and performance needed for the <br />City of South Bend Street Sweeping Program. A responsive bidder must provide a sweeper that <br />meets the criteria of this specification. <br />Vendor shall provide all information requested in specifications to qualify for the bid. Vendor <br />shall indicate YES or NO for each area of the specification. Any exceptions to the following <br />specifications must be noted on a separate sheet and attached to the bid in order for the bid to be <br />valid. <br />The City of South Bend reserves the right to reject any and all bids which, in its judgment, will <br />be in the best interest of the City of South Bend. <br />SPECIFICATIONS <br />SHALL BE AS SPECIFIED <br />Chassis: <br />Conventional design with 33,000 GVW minimum and <br />/ NO <br />factory installed dual steering. Both operator stations to <br />include separate controls and gauges as specified. Each <br />station to function independently of the other. Wheel <br />base to meet sweeper manufacturer specifications. Auto <br />Lube System to be included. <br />Front Axle: <br />12,000 lb minimum. <br />YES NO <br />Front <br />12,000 lb minimum, flat leaf springs with shock <br />®/ NO <br />Suspension: <br />absorbers. <br />Rear Axle: <br />23,000 lb. minimum. <br />YES NO <br />Two speed rear axle having ratios conducive to both <br />transport and sweeping speeds. <br />Rear <br />23,000 lb. flat leaf springs with 2,000 lb. auxiliary and <br />Q/ NO <br />Suspension: <br />radius rod. <br />M <br />
