These sessions will be <br />offered as ongoing training programs. <br />BCRC encourages all Employees troubled by their own or a <br />family member's drug or alcohol abuse to seek professional care <br />and treatment. Early recognition and treatment of alcohol and <br />drug abuse provides the greatest opportunity for successful <br />recovery. BCRC provides an Employee Assistance Program <br />(EAP) for all Employees and their families who need professional <br />guidance in assessing their substance abuse or alcohol -related <br />problem and choosing an appropriate course of treatment. <br />Current Employees will be referred to an EAP representative <br />as a result of a non -negative (positive) drug or alcohol test, a <br />non -compliant event, or upon an individual's own request. In <br />either case, the content of the discussion with the EAP will be <br />protected and confidential, to the extent allowed by law. A <br />participant's use of and communications with the EAP are <br />confidential and information regarding such confidential matters <br />will not be released to BCRC or any of its subscribing <br />organizations or participants without written release from the <br />participant in accordance with the law. Employees, who use the <br />EAP as a consequence of a non -negative (positive) drug or <br />alcohol test, or a non -compliant event, will be subject to the <br />conditions established in the drug testing portion of this policy <br />and as outlined by the EAP Counselor. <br />The EAP staff has knowledge of the level and types of <br />benefits available to BCRC Employees. Employees can access the <br />services of the EAP through a hotline that is staffed twenty-four <br />(24) hours a day, seven (7) days a week, throughout the entire <br />year. Employees calling the EAP hotline are put in touch with a <br />counselor who will conduct a professional assessment and who <br />may meet with them to f n-ther assess the nature of the problem in <br />order to provide a referral to the best and most appropriate level <br />of care.The EAP is staffed by certified and Masters -level <br />credentialed human services professionals who arc sensitive to <br />
