City of South Bend Central Services Division <br />Fire Service, Inc./Wheeled Coach Ambulance <br />Specification <br />INVERTER/CHARGER <br />A Vanner 20-1050CULW inverter charger shall be installed. It shall power the <br />110VAC outlets. A switch shall be installed in the action area. <br />The electrical system shall be monitored by a system that provides both an <br />audible and visual warning in case of low voltage in the ambulance. The alarm <br />shall sound if the system voltage at the batteries drops below 11.8 Volts for a 12 <br />Volt nominal system for more than 120 seconds. <br />EMERGENCY MASTER SWITCH <br />An Emergency Master Switch shall be located in the Engine Cover Console just <br />the right of the Master Switch. The engaged emergency master switch shall turn <br />on all of the emergency lights in a programmed sequential manner if the master <br />switch is in the on po-sition. <br />LOAD MANAGEMENT <br />A Kussmaul Sequencer shall manage the electrical load of the vehicle. It shall <br />turn on essential loads such as primary warning lights first and then any optional <br />lighting in a programmed sequential order, and it shall turn off in the reverse <br />order. A separate switch shall be located in the cab console and shall be powered <br />through the master switch. In addition, an override switch shall be located in the <br />cab console. <br />SIREN, PUBLIC ADDRESS SYSTEM <br />The ambulance shall be equipped with hands free electronic siren with silent <br />testing.
