Auto Base Plus Color Mixing Process <br /> <br />1. Mix Auto Base Plus at 100:5 with LV 650 Hardener utilizing the #14 Sikkens measuring stick. Stir mixture <br />completely. <br /> <br />2. Mix 100 parts of above combination with 80 parts Sikkens HP Reducers. <br /> <br />3. Solvent selection should be slow enough to provide good flow and melt in characteristics. <br /> <br />X. Application of Auto Base Plus Colors <br /> <br />1. For solid colors, apply 2 single coats allowing 5 to 7 minutes flash-off between each coat. <br /> <br />2. For metallic colors, apply 2 single coats at approximately 6 inches from the module allowing 5 to 7 minutes flash - <br />off between each coat. Even out the metallic pattern an orientation coat after the second coat has flashed off <br />completely. <br />XI. Autocoat LV650 Clear Coat Mixing Process <br /> <br />1. Mix Autocoat LV650 Clear Coat at a ratio of 5:2:2 <br />a. 5 parts LV650 Clear <br />b. 2 parts LV650 Hardener <br />c. 2 parts LV650 Reducer <br /> <br />2. Once it is mixed, Autocoat LV650 Clear has a pot life of 1.5 hours at 70 degrees F. <br /> <br />XII. Application of Autocoat LV650 Clear Coat <br /> <br />1. Apply three full wet coats allowing a 5 to 10 minute flash off period between each coat. <br /> <br />2. Adjust fan pattern and atomizing air pressure to minimize texture and overspray. <br /> <br />3. Force drying of Autocoat LV650 Clear <br />a. Allow 10 to 15 minute flash in booth after application of second coat. <br />b. Bake at 140F for 45 minutes. <br />c. Allow a 10 minute cool down in booth. <br />d. Air dry for approximately 8 hours at 70F prior to any polish or detailing. <br /> <br />XIII. Sikkens System Dry Film Build Requirements <br /> <br />1. High Build Surfacer Gray---2.0 to 2.7 mils per coat. ( not included in total film build calculation) <br /> <br />2. E Coat---LV260 Primer EP---One coat at 1.0 to 1.5 mils per coat. <br /> <br />3. Primer Sealer---LV650---One coat at 1.0 to 1.4 mils per coat. <br /> <br />4. Base Coat--- Autobase Plus---Two to three coats at 0.3 to 0.4 mils per coat. <br /> <br />5. Clear Coat---LV650 Clear---Three coats at 0.9 to 1.1 mils per coat. <br /> <br />6. Total Dry Film Build System range---5.7 to 7.4 mils.
