The glazing putty is to be finish sanded and feather edged with 180 grit sandpaper prior to paint. <br /> <br />6. Sand/abrade all areas that require the application of LV260 epoxy primer with 180 grit. <br /> <br />7. Thoroughly clean and degrease with Sikkens OTO Surface cleaner. <br /> <br />8. Apply Auto Prep Pre-Treatment Wipes to all bare metal or aluminum surfaces extending slightly into the polyester <br />repaired areas and extending far enough on to the substrate to allow the LV260 epoxy prim er to be applied inside <br />the Auto Prep Pre-Treatment Wipe area. <br /> <br />9. All body work is to be primed with LV260 epoxy primer, and final sanded with 320 grit sandpaper. <br /> <br />10. All edges of the module body, doors, and door openings are to be rounded for maximum paint mil s. <br /> <br />11. All body work requires a Quality Assurance inspection to check for pin holes, gaps, scratches, and blemishes. All <br />edges are to be rounded, and all sealant is to be sanded before epoxy primer application. <br /> <br />III. Surface Preparation --- Brightener Process <br /> <br />1. Fully rinse module with D.I. water. <br /> <br />2. Mix 35 0z. Brightener to 500 oz D.I. water. <br /> <br />3. Apply Brightener solution from the top of the module working down while scrubbing with a brush to insure <br />complete surface contact and mechanical cleaning. <br /> <br />4. Allow approximately 5 minutes dwell time on the surface. <br /> <br />5. Rinse thoroughly with D.I. water. Water must “sheet” cleanly over the aluminum surface. If required, repeat <br />process. <br /> <br />IV. Surface Preparation --- Application of Gardobond <br />4707 <br /> <br />1. Mix 300 milliliters of Gardobond 4707 to 2 gallons of D.I. water. <br /> <br />2. Apply Gardobond solution starting at the top of the module and working down using approved spray equipment <br />while maintaining at least 50 % overlap application process. <br /> <br />3. Allow 5 minute dwell time on the surface. <br /> <br />4. Rinse thoroughly with D.I. water. <br /> <br />5. Blow off excess water with air blower concentrating on recessed areas and seams. <br /> <br />6. Blow off and bake dry in spray booth (140 degrees for 45 minutes), and recheck for residual water. <br /> <br />7. Tack and proceed with painting process. <br />
