American Response Vehicles <br />47 <br />The substrate will be 7-ply, A-A (Cabinet grade), hardwood plywood. The door will be flush fitted to the <br />opening and have uniform gap spacing around the perimeter of the door. The door will be hung on a <br />continuous, stainless steel piano hinge with mounting screws, spaced every two inches along the full length of <br />the pre-punched hinge. The door will be finished on both sides with white cabinet liner laminate on the inside <br />and the same colored mica as the cabinet fascia on the outside. <br /> <br />DOOR EDGE FINISH: The edges of the aforementioned solid hinged door(s) will be covered with anodized <br />aluminum, U-shaped trim. The trim will be miter cut and wrapped around the perimeter of the door (On ALL <br />four sides), including the hinged side. The trim will be bonded to the door edge and clamped. No screws or <br />other mechanical fastener will be used to fasten the trim work to the door(s). The corners of the doors will be <br />broken (rounded) after application. Vinyl "Iron on" or mica edge banding is not acceptable. <br /> <br />General Cabinet Construction Definitions <br /> <br />REEL TORQUE STYLE HINGES: When reel torque style hinges are specified, the hinges to hold up the access <br />door will be powder coated zinc Reel Torque style with a 30 pound torque setting each. Each hinge has a built <br />in friction action to provide a holding force of present amount to cause the hinge to resist movement in either <br />direction. This hinge is intended to act as a hold open for a cabinet light door while the vehicle is not in <br />motion. <br /> <br />NON-LOCKING ROUND PULL LATCH: When a non-locking latch is specified, a round pull style chrome positive <br />latch will be supplied and installed on the cabinet door. A small "pre-load" on the latch will be imposed to <br />prevent the door from rattling. When a locking latch is specified, there will be a key included for locking <br />purposes. <br /> <br />STOWAGE LABEL: A label will be applied for any door, drawer, or other stowage area secured by a Round <br />Southco latch, indicating its ability to restrain 10 pounds of contents within the stowage area. This latch has <br />been tested and is compliant within the requirements of SAE J3058 as required under Federal specification <br />KKK-A-1822F section 3.11.3. <br /> <br />ADJUSTABLE SHELVES: When adjustable shelf or shelves are specified, each shelf will be made of 1/2" thick <br />substrate and finished in white colored laminate. The sides of each shelf will be laminated. Each shelf will be <br />secured to four shelf clips with Phillips head wood screws, from the bottom of the shelf. An anodized <br />aluminum angle will be securely fastened to the front edge of each shelf. The vertical leg of the angle will <br />provide a lip along the front edge. <br /> <br />SHELF STANDARDS: Each cabinet containing a shelf will be equipped with non-incremental, aluminum, C- <br />shaped shelf standards. <br /> <br />CABINET – DRAWER: When a drawer is specified, the following specifications will apply. The drawer will be <br />finished in high impact, white colored mica that is impervious to disinfectants and cleaners. The cabinet will <br />add at least 1.0 cubic feet of interior stowage accommodations described in Federal specification KKK-A-1822E
