Horton <br /> July 25, 1992 <br /> Members of the Common Council <br /> 4th Floor County-City Building <br /> South Bend, Indiana 46601 <br /> RE: Substitute Bill No. 55-92-Teamster Employees Salary and Wage Ordinance <br /> Dear Council Members: <br /> On behalf of the City Negotiating Team, I am pleased to introduce Substitute Bill No. 55- <br /> 92 which establishes maximum salaries and wages for Teamster Employees of the City of <br /> South Bend for calendar years 1993, 1994, and 1995. <br /> As you are aware, a joint negotiating team made up of administrative and legislative <br /> members successfully negotiated a three (3) year wage and benefit package with the <br /> Teamster Negotiating Team. Members of the City Team included: John E. Leszczynski, <br /> Thomas L. Bodnar, Catherine A. Hubbard, Jeffery Jankowski, Stephen Luecke, Ann <br /> Puzzello,Eugene Ladewski, Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand. <br /> The overall terms of the Three Year Agreement are as follows: <br /> a one thousand dollar($1,000) bonus in 1993 payable $500 dollars in January and <br /> $500 in June of 1993; in 1994 a three hundred dollar ($300) bonus payment <br /> payable in January and a fifteen cent base hourly increase; and in 1995 a fifteen <br /> cent base hourly rate increase on January 1, 1995 and a fifteen cent base hourly <br /> increase effective July 1, 1995. <br /> Adjustments were also made with regard to holidays. Specific agreement was <br /> reached with regard to eight hour and ten (10) hour employees. Nine (9) specific <br /> holidays are recognized by the City with the individual employee selecting one <br /> additional holiday from a list of eight(8)days jointly selected by the Teamsters and <br /> the City. Adjustments with regard to insurance benefits will also be incorporated <br /> within the Bargaining Agreement. <br /> As the Chairperson of the City Negotiating Team,I recommend this Ordinance to you and <br /> request that it passed.
