Harnessing containing multiple wiresand uses <br />be allowed. Function and number codesshallbe continuouslyimprintedon all wiring harness <br />conductorsat 2.00"intervals. All wiringinstalled betweenthecab and into doors shall be <br />protected byan expandable rubber bootto protectthewiring. Exterior exposedwire <br />connectors shall bepositive locking,and environmentallysealedto withstandelementssuch <br />astemperatureextremes, moisture andautomotivefluids. Electrical wiringand equipment <br />shall beinstalledutilizingthe following guidelines: <br />1.All wireends notplacedinto connectorsshallbe sealed with a heat shrink end cap. <br />Wireswithouta terminating connectoror sealed end cap shallnotbeallowed. <br />2.All holesmadeintheroof shall be caulkedwithsilicon (no exception).Large fender <br />washers,liberallycaulked,shall beused whenfastening equipmenttotheunderside <br />of the cab roof. <br />3.Any electricalcomponent thatisinstalledinan exposed area shall bemountedina <br />mannerthat shall notallowmoisturetoaccumulate init. Exposed areashall be <br />definedas any locationoutsideof thecab orbody. <br />4.For lowcost ofownership,electricalcomponentsdesigned toberemovedfor <br />maintenance shall bequickly accessible. For easeof use, a coilofwireshallbe <br />providedbehind the applianceto allowthemto be pulled awayfromthemounting <br />areafor inspection and service work. <br />5.Corrosionpreventativecompound shall beapplied to non-waterproofelectrical <br />connectorslocatedoutsideof the cab orbody.All non-waterproof connectionsshall <br />require thiscompoundinthe plugtopreventcorrosionand foreasyseparationof the <br />plug. <br />6.Any lights containing non-waterproof socketsin a weather-exposed areashallhave <br />corrosion preventative compound addedtothe socketterminalarea. <br />7.Allelectricalterminalsinexposedareasshallhave DOW 1890 protective Coating <br />appliedcompletely overthe metal portion of the terminal. <br />8.Rubbercoatedmetal clamps shallbe usedto supportwireharnessingandbattery <br />cablesroutedalongthechassisframerails. <br />PDF created with pdfFactory Pro trial version www.pdffactory.com <br /> <br />
