South Bend Fire Department <br />All 1/4" diameter and smaller screws and bolts shall be stainless steel. <br />Due to the expected lifeof the vehicle, proposalswill only be acceptable from manufacturers that <br />include these corrosionfeatures. <br />One (1)Smooth Alum Compt Floors <br />30-02-2200 <br />COMPARTMENT FLOORS <br />The compartment floors shall be constructed of smooth aluminum material, to match the <br />compartment interior walls. <br />One (1)Sub Frame, Hot-Dip Galv <br />30-10-1100 <br />GALVANIZED SUB-FRAME <br />The apparatus body subframe shall be constructedentirely of heavy steel structural channel <br />material. <br />Two full frame lengths, three-inch (3") 3.4 poundper foot longitudinal steel channels shall form <br />the sides of the body subframeand sides of the water tank cradle. Subframe crossmembers shall <br />be fabricated with threeinch (3") 3.4 pound per foot heavy steel channelcross members welded <br />to the longitudinal body subframe sidesand the full length frame pads. <br />Two full frame length 1/2" x 3" flat steel frame pads shall be attached to the body subframe and <br />rest on top of the chassisframerails for properframe weight distribution. <br />The steel frame pads, longitudinal steel channels and subframe crossmembers shall be attached <br />to the chassis framerailsusing heavy "U" bolt fasteners to allow removal of the subframeand <br />body assembly from thechassis. There shall be abarrierprovided between the subframeand <br />body to prevent electrolysis. <br />The rear subframe and lower body platform support members shall be of the "two piece" design, <br />fabricated of 3.4 lb. Per foot heavy channel and welded to the full length subframechannel liners <br />at the rear. <br />A minimum of two rearplatform support channels shall be provided and constructed of 3.4 lb. <br />Per foot heavy steel material.
