CITYOFSOUTHBEND HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION Commissioner Tiffany (NAY): Commissioner Stalheim (AYE): I voted to deny, as I would like to see more In terms of proposed future funding for maintenance as a way for making up for the loss in historic tax credit resources if they are not able to be attained. Commissioner Ponder (AYE): I voted to deny, because it goes against the Standards and Guidelines that were read, stating, that all items shall be preserved, and it goes against that. Commissioner Deegan (AYE): I voted to deny, based upon the fact that it goes against the Standards and Guidelines, and also as it betrays the educational mission and historic value of the location. Commissioner Downs-Krostenko (NAY): Commissioner Gelfman (AYE): I voted to deny, because of the National historic location of this, also the 9.7.1.1, where all items shall be preserved for this particular site, and that moving or demolishing any historic structure that would alter the spatial or the visual relationships in the landscape shall not be allowed. Certificate of Appropriateness #2020.0302 is denied. Pursuant to South Bend Municipal Code Section 21-13-02(e)(5)(B), an applicant may appeal a denial of a Certificate of Appropriateness by the Historic Preservation Commission to the Common Council, which shall make a final determination of the application.
