Vehicle Multiplex <br />Warranty <br />Page 4 <br />V-MUX Certified Supplier Program – VCS <br />At the OEM level: Weldon offers two levels of certification for the OEM (original equipment <br />manufacturer): <br /> VCS (V-MUX Certified Supplier Program) Level 1. To obtain VCS 1, an OEM must: <br />o Send at least two electrical design qualified individuals through Weldon’s two-day <br />class. <br />This class will consist at a minimum of: <br /> 1 hour of V-MUX electrical system overview <br /> 10 hours of V-MUX System Designer™ software training <br /> 1 hour of multiplex node Downloader software training <br /> 3 hours of vehicle Diagnostics software and troubleshooting training <br /> 1 hour of on-site support for V-MUX test apparatus fabrication <br />o Host Weldon provided production-level electrical training, (may be concurrent with <br />above training) consisting at a minimum of: <br /> 1 hour of V-MUX electrical system overview <br /> 3 hours Diagnostics/Downloader software training with Diagnostics tools <br /> 1 hour of general electrical troubleshooting training. <br />Certified VCS 1 OEMs will have the ability to design, build, and service a V-MUXed electrical system. <br /> VCS Level 2. To obtain VCS 2, an OEM must: <br />o Obtain VCS 1 level training. This can be concurrent with VCS 2 training. <br />o Set up with Weldon an end-user customer support system. (Manuals, internet, etc…) <br />o Provide dealer and/or service-level training, consisting at a minimum of: <br /> 1.5 hours of V-MUX electrical system overview <br /> 1 hour of Downloader software training <br /> 2 hours of Diagnostics training <br /> Weldon approved basic computer literacy training/test for at each service <br />center. At least one active person per service center must pass the computer <br />literacy test. <br /> Distribution of V-MUX Diagnostic software and troubleshooting tools <br /> Annual refresher training. <br />Certified VCS 2 OEMs will have VCS 1 abilities plus the ability to provide to end users a robust V-MUX <br />support system. For each end user an overview class will conducted by the OEM or Dealer that covers <br />the location of V-MUX nodes in their vehicle, on-board diagnostic messages, basic troubleshooting, <br />and support. The end user should also test completely any V-Muxed vehicle before taking delivery. <br />VCS 2 certification is annual and subject to annual reviews by Weldon. <br /> Page 4 of 5 V-MUX Warranty Statement 2005 <br /> <br />
