<br />SECTION 06100 <br /> <br />CARPENTRY <br /> <br />PART 1 - GENERAL <br /> <br />1.1 SUMMARY <br /> <br />A. Furnish and install: <br />1. Wood, nails, bolts, screws, framing, anchors and other rough hardware, <br />and other items needed, and perform rough carpentry for the construction <br />shown on the Drawings, as specified herein, and as needed for a <br />complete and proper installation. <br />2. All finished carpentry. <br /> <br />1.2 QUALITY ASSURANCE <br /> <br />A. Use adequate numbers of skilled workmen who are thoroughly trained and <br />experienced in the necessary crafts and who are completely familiar with the <br />specified requirements and the methods needed for proper performance of the <br />work of this Section. <br /> <br />B. Codes and standards: <br />1. In addition to complying with the pertinent codes and regulations of <br />governmental agencies having jurisdiction, unless otherwise specifically <br />directed or permitted by the Architect/Engineer comply with: <br />a. "Product Use Manual" of the Western Wood Products Association <br />for selection and use of products included in that manual; <br />b. <br />APA Engineered Wood Association; <br /> <br />1.3 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING <br /> <br />A. Protection: <br />1. Deliver the materials to the job site and store, in a safe area, out of the <br />way of traffic, and shored up off the ground surface. <br />2. Identify framing lumber as to grades, and store each separately from <br />other grades. <br />3. Protect metals with adequate waterproof outer wrapping. <br />4. Use extreme care in off loading of lumber to prevent damage, splitting, <br />and breaking of materials. <br /> <br />PART 2 - PRODUCTS <br /> <br />2.1 GRADE STAMPS <br /> <br />A. Identify framing lumber by the grade stamp of the Southern Pine Inspection <br />Bureau or West Coast Lumber Inspection Bureau, or such other grade stamp as <br />is approved in advance by the Architect/Engineer. <br /> <br />CARPENTRY <br />06100-1 <br /> <br />
