REGULAR MEETING June 22', 2020 <br /> BEND MUNICIPAL CODE TO CORRECT <br /> TYPOGRAPHICAL ERRORS IN VARIOUS ARTICLES <br /> AND TO ADD CLARIFYING LANGUAGE AND <br /> TABLES <br /> Councilmember Lori K. Hamann made a motion to accept the Substitute version of Bill No. 11- <br /> 20. Councilmember Sheila Niezgodski seconded this motion which carried by a roll call vote of <br /> eight (8) ayes. <br /> Councilmember Sharon L. McBride,chair of the Zoning and Annexation Committee,reported that <br /> they met this afternoon and send this bill to the full Council with a favorable recommendation. <br /> Michael Divita, Principal Planner for the City of South Bend with offices located on the 14th floor <br /> of the County-City Building, South Bend, IN, served as the presenter for this bill. Mr. Divita <br /> highlighted the key points of this legislation referencing a PowerPoint presentation which is <br /> available in the City Clerk's Office. <br /> Councilmember Sharon L. McBride opened the floor to questions and comments from Council <br /> Members. There were none. <br /> This being the time heretofore set for the Public Hearing on the above bill, proponents and <br /> opponents were given an opportunity to be heard. There were none. <br /> Councilmember Sheila Niezgodski made a motion to send Substitute Bill No. 11-20 to the full <br /> Council with a favorable recommendation. Councilmember Jake Teshka seconded this motion <br /> which carried by a roll call vote of eight(8) ayes. <br /> 12-20 PUBLIC HEARING ON AN ORDINANCE OF THE <br /> COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, <br /> INDIANA, ADDING ARTICLE 1, DIVISION 2, <br /> SECTIONS 2-12.2.1 TO AND INCLUDING 2-12.2.9 OF <br /> CHAPTER 2 OF THE SOUTH BEND MUNICIPAL CODE <br /> TO CREATE A CITIZENS' POLICE COMPLAINT <br /> BOARD AND PROCEDURES GOVERNING THE <br /> BOARD <br /> Councilmember Rachel Tomas Morgan made a motion to table Bill No. 12-20 to the July 13th, <br /> 2020 meeting of the South Bend Common Council. Councilmember Lori K. Hamann seconded <br /> this motion which carried by a roll call vote of eight(8) ayes. <br /> 22-20 PUBLIC HEARING ON AN ORDINANCE OF THE <br /> COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, <br /> INDIANA, APPROVING A PETITION OF THE <br /> ADVISORY BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS FOR THE <br /> PROPERTY LOCATED AT 817 ELMER, SOUTH BEND, <br /> IN 46628 <br /> Councilmember Sharon L. McBride,chair of the Zoning and Annexation Committee,reported that <br /> they met this afternoon and send this bill to the full Council with a favorable recommendation. <br /> Joseph Molnar, Zoning Specialist for the City of South Bend with offices located on the 14th floor <br /> of the County-City Building, South Bend,IN,served as the presenter for this bill. Mr. Molnar went <br /> over the highlights of this rezoning request and referenced a PowerPoint presentation which is <br /> available in the City Clerk's Office. <br /> Councilmember Sharon L. McBride opened the floor to questions and comments from Council <br /> Members.
