REGULAR MEETING SEPTEMBER 25 2012 308 <br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS — SELF - <br />CONTAINED BREATHING APPARATUS REPLACEMENT 80/20 FEDERAL GRANT <br />In a memorandum to the Board, Fire Chief Stephen Cox requested permission to advertise for the <br />receipt of bids for the above referenced equipment. Therefore, upon a motion made by Ms. Roos, <br />seconded by Mr. Mecham and carried, the above request was approved. <br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS AND TITLE <br />SHEET — CENTURY CENTER LIGHTING RENOVATIONS — PROJECT NO. 112 -057 <br />PARKING GARAGE FUND <br />In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. Jonathon Burke, Energy Office, requested permission to <br />advertise for the receipt of bids for the above referenced project. Also presented at this time for <br />approval and execution was the Title Sheet. Upon a motion made by Ms. Roos, seconded by Mr. <br />Mecham and carried, the above request to advertise was approved, and the Title Sheet was <br />approved and signed. <br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS AND TITLE <br />SHEET — RE- LIGHTING FOR LEIGHTON COMPLEX MAIN /COLFAX AND WAYNE <br />STREET PARKING GARAGES —PROJECT NO, 112 -058 (CED CAPITAL <br />In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. Jonathon Burke, Energy Office, requested permission to <br />advertise for the receipt of bids for the above referenced project. Upon a motion made by Mr. Mecham, seconded by <br />Ms. Roos and carried, the above request to advertise was approved, and the Title Sheet was <br />approved and signed. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS — SALE OF <br />ABANDONED VEHICLES <br />Ms. Kathy Eli, Department of Code Enforcement, requested permission to advertise for the sale <br />of approximately fourteen (14) abandoned vehicles, which are being stored at Super Auto <br />Salvage Corporation, 201 West Sherwood, South Bend, Indiana. It was noted that all vehicles <br />have been stored more than fifteen (15) days, identification checks have been run for auto theft, <br />and the owners and lienholders notified. Upon a motion made by Ms. Roos, seconded by Mr. <br />Mecham, and carried, the above request was approved. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO CONTINUE MORATORIUM ON TOWING LIST FOR THE <br />PURPOSES OF DATA COLLECTION FOR RESOLUTION NO. 28 -2012 — AMENDING <br />RESOLUTION NO. 87 -2011 "RESOLUTION AMENDING CONTRACTS FOR <br />EMERGENCY TOWING FROM THE PUBLIC RIGHT OF WAY" <br />Ms. Andrea Beachkofsky, Legal, stated that back in May of 2012 the Board of Works approved a <br />three (3) month moratorium on the towing Iist Resolution No, 87 -2011. She noted the <br />moratorium has ended and she is now in the process of drafting a new resolution. She is <br />requesting, therefore, that the Board grant an extension on the moratorium for the purposes of <br />reviewing the data and drafting a new resolution. Mr. Inks asked how long she is requesting the <br />extension for. She stated sixty (60) days. Upon a motion by Ms. Roos, seconded by Mr. Mecham <br />and carried, the extension of the moratorium was approved as outlined above. <br />ADOPT RESOLUTION NO. 52 -2012 — A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC <br />WORKS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND INDIANA RECOMMENDING THE <br />ACQUISITION, CONSTRUCTION AND INSTALLATION OF CERTAIN ADDITIONS <br />EXTENSIONS AND IMPROVEMENTS TO THE CITY'S SEWAGE WORKS THE <br />ISSUANCE AND SALE OF REVENUE BONDS FOR THE PAYMENT OF COSTS <br />THEREOF AND THE COLLECTION SEGREGATION AND DISTRIBUTION OF THE <br />REVENUES OF THE SEWAGE WORKS AND OTHER MATTERS RELATED THERETO <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Mecham, seconded by Ms. Roos and carried, the following <br />Resolution was adopted by the Board of Public Works: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 52-2012 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH <br />BEND, INDIANA, RECOMMENDING THE ACQUISITION, CONSTRUCTION AND <br />INSTALLATION OF CERTAIN <br />ADDITIONS, EXTENSIONS AND IMPROVEMENTS TO THE CITY'S SEWAGE <br />WORKS, <br />
