South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />Regular Meeting - December 01, 2000 <br />6. NEW BUSINESS (CONT.) <br />i. Commission approval requested for Loan <br />and Grant in connection with the Affordable <br />Loan Program for property located at 1805 <br />S. Chapin St. (Cora Mae Bell) <br />Mr. Inks stated that the loan amount is <br />$7,450.00 and the grant amount is $7,144.50. <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Kahn, seconded by <br />Ms. Jones and unanimously carried, the <br />Commission approved the Loan and Grant in <br />connection with the Affordable Loan Program <br />for property located at 1805 S. Chapin St. (Cora <br />Mae Bell) <br />j. Staff report on property located at 701 E. <br />Pennsylvania Ave. <br />Mr. Mariani reported that the house is a historic <br />local landmark and has been listed on the <br />national registry. The property has been <br />appraised at $4000.00. The estimated rehab <br />project cost is $100,000. Letters to sent out to <br />several individuals and organizations that the <br />staff thought might be interested in the rehab <br />project. Mr. Mariani stated that the only <br />proposal that the staff had received within the <br />deadline was this morning by fax from DVD <br />Properties. Their letter asked for an extension <br />of the deadline so that they could fully develop <br />their proposal. The staff did not recommend <br />extending the deadline, but preferred to accept <br />this proposal, request more information by early <br />January, and bring the proposal to the <br />Commission for approval at its first January <br />meeting. <br />-7- <br />COMMISSION APPROVED THE LOAN AND <br />GRANT IN CONNECTION WITH THE <br />AFFORDABLE LOAN PROGRAM FOR <br />PROPERTY LOCATED AT 1805 S.
