South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />Regular Meeting - October 20, 2000 <br />6. NEW BUSINESS (CONT.) <br />t. Commission approval requested for <br />professional services in the Sample -Ewing <br />Development Area. (Title Polices for the <br />Oliver Plow Works and South Bend Stamping <br />Plant) <br />Mr. Laurent explained that preliminary title work <br />needs to be done for all of the properties that <br />have recently been added to the requisition list. <br />He stated that the staff has received two <br />proposals, one from Meridian Title Corporation <br />in the amount of $500 and the other one from <br />Metropolitan Title Company in the amount of <br />$1,000. The staff recommends accepting the <br />proposal from Meridian Title Corporation. <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by <br />Ms. Jones and unanimously carried, the <br />Commission approved the proposal from <br />Meridian Title Corporation for professional <br />services in the Sample -Ewing Development <br />Area. (Title Policies for the Oliver Plow Works <br />and South Bend Stamping Plant) <br />u. Commission approval requested for <br />Resolution No. 1802 approving the transfer of <br />real property to the City of South Bend, <br />Indiana. <br />Mr. Mariani explained that Resolution No. 1802 <br />is part of the on -going partnership with American <br />Home Dreams. He stated that the resolution <br />transfers nine (9) properties along Broadway St. <br />at the intersection of St. Joseph and Marietta Sts. <br />to the Board of Public Works for the eventual <br />transfer to American Home Dreams, so that these <br />sites can be developed for new housing. <br />-16- <br />COMMISSION APPROVED THE PROPOSAL <br />FROM MERIDIAN TITLE CORPORATION FOR <br />PROFESSIONAL SERVICES IN THE SAMPLE - <br />EWING DEVELOPMENT AREA (TITLE <br />POLICIES FOR THE OLIVER PLOW WORKS <br />AND SOUTH BEND STAMPING PLANT) <br />
