South Bend Redevelopment Commission Regular Meeting -June 16, 2000 6. NEW BUSINESS (CON'T) r. Commission approval requested for proposal on disposition of property in the Studebaker Corridor Sample -Ewing Development Area. ( Ziolkowski Construction) Ms. Kolata stated that Ziolkowski Construction has made a proposal to purchase Lot 9A in the Sample -Ewing Development Area for $1,500.00. She noted that the Commission has some limits as to what can be accepted in terms of sales proceeds because of the bond issue used to acquire the property. She also noted that the staff recommended accepting the proposal with a couple of contingencies: first, the company must construct a maintenance building of concrete blocks, measuring about 7200 sq. ft, on the property. Second, the company must do some clean-up, screening and improvements of existing storage yard, particularly on the Franklin Street side, including a fence and a more detailed landscaping plan. Upon a motion by Mr. Kahn, seconded by Ms. Jones and unanimously carried the Commission approved the proposal for disposition of property in the Studebaker Corridor Sample -Ewing Development Area, Lot 9A, contingent upon clean-up, screening, landscaping and construction of maintenance building. ( Ziolkowski Construction) 7. PROGRESS REPORTS Ms. Kolata noted that the mayor has appointed Mr. Jim Caldwell to fill the vacant position on the Redevelopment Commission. Jim was unavailable for this meeting, but will be joining the Commission at the next regular meeting.
