South Bend Redevelopment Commission
Regular Meeting - April 28, 2000
e. Commission approval requested for
Letter Agreement with Meadowbrook
Golf relative to Blackthorn Golf
Course.
Mrs. Kolata stated that a Letter
Agreement has been drafted to send to
Meadowbrook Golf regarding a job
vacancy for a Class "A" PGA or LPGA
Golf Professional. The vacancy came
about after the former Golf Professional
employed by Meadowbrook departed
and, as a result, a vacancy exists for that
position.
She also stated that Tim Firestone has
been recommended for the position,
however he is not qualified as a Class
"A" PGA Golf Professional but is taking
the necessary steps to obtain such
qualification. He anticipates obtaining
such qualification later this year. Mr.
Firestone has graduated from Levels II
and III of the PGA Program and will be
taking the Level III Test Point in
Columbus, Ohio, during the second week
in October 2000. This is the final phase
in order for him to become a Class "A"
PGA Golf Professional.
Mrs. Kolata stated that the Letter
Agreement allows Mr. Firestone to serve
temporarily as Blackthorn's Golf
Professional for one year, commencing
on March 1, 2000, and ending on March
1, 2001. If Mr. Firestone does not
achieve the Class "A" qualification prior
to March 1, 2001, then his employment as
a designated Golf Professional will be
terminated and Meadowbrook will be
required to employ a Class "A" Golf
-7-
