South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />Regular Meeting - March 3, 2000 <br />6. NEW BUSINESS (CONT.) <br />E Commission approval requested <br />for Resolution No. 1745 <br />approving an application for <br />real property tax deduction for <br />property at 5550 Cleveland <br />Road. (USF Holland, Inc.) <br />Cassandra Moran presented the <br />following staff report to the <br />Commission for its consideration. <br />USF Holland is a less than truck <br />load carrier providing logistics <br />and just -in -time trucking <br />operations supporting its <br />customers throughout the United <br />States and beyond. USF Holland, <br />Inc. proposes to construct a <br />terminal facility between <br />Cleveland Road and the Indiana <br />Toll Road. The project is <br />estimated to cost $6 million and <br />reflects the need for expansion of <br />the existing South Bend <br />operations to accommodate the <br />rapid growth of the company. <br />Per the petition, it is estimated <br />that this project will create 25 -30 <br />new, permanent, full -time jobs <br />within the first year representing a <br />new annual payroll of $1.341.5 <br />million and will maintain 299 <br />existing, permanent, full -time and <br />two part-time jobs, representing <br />an annual payroll of $15,300,000. <br />In <br />
