South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />Regular Meeting - February 18, 2000 <br />6. NEW BUSINESS (CONT.) <br />b. continued... <br />this area shall remain as such. The <br />sharing of the existing surface lots in <br />this area with surrounding uses is <br />encouraged. Finally, Area P <br />consists of the transitional area. <br />Currently, a mix of different <br />restaurant, retail and office related <br />uses. The highest priority in this <br />area shall be for future mixed use, <br />commercial and office related uses <br />which complement development <br />activities to the south, in the Central <br />Business District. <br />In addition to the previously <br />discussed topics such as goals and <br />objectives, there are many other <br />items which are components of the <br />existing South Bend Central <br />Development Area Development <br />Plan which are related to our <br />amendment today. I would like to <br />end the presentation by quickly <br />identifying and summarizing how the <br />different components relate between <br />the expansion plan and the existing <br />plan. First, consistent with the <br />existing South Bend Central <br />Development Area Plan, the <br />expansion plan will promote the <br />unrestricted and safe flow of traffic <br />within, through and around the <br />boundaries of the expansion area. <br />The expansion plan shall be <br />consistent with existing guidelines <br />identified in the South Bend Central <br />-15- <br />
