NEW BUSINESS (CONT.) <br />b. continued... <br />which provides for and <br />accommodates various forms of <br />transportation including automobile, <br />bus and pedestrian traffic; (13) To <br />maintain a consistently high level of <br />quality in design and materials for <br />new construction, renovation <br />projects, public space, landscaping, <br />lighting and signage; (14) To create <br />and maintain a strong private /public <br />organizational framework in which <br />to establish project plans and <br />implementation strategies; (1 S) To <br />increase the functions and facilities <br />within the area to make it an <br />attractive and competitive area for <br />living, working and recreation. <br />Similar to the previously identified <br />redevelopment areas within the <br />South Bend Central Development <br />Area —the Central Business District, <br />East Bank and Monroe Park —the <br />Downtown Medical Services District <br />has its own individual <br />characteristics and its own <br />individuality. However, like those <br />districts, the success of the <br />Downtown Medical Services District <br />is also related to the existing South <br />Bend Central Development Area, <br />and its relationship to its immediate <br />surroundings.
