NEW BUSINESS (CONT.) <br />e. continued.... <br />Joseph Apartments, West <br />Washington Homes, the Studebaker <br />Corridor project, Central High <br />School Apartments, Stephenson Mill <br />Apartments, Blackthorn Golf Course, <br />Blackthorn Corporate Park, the <br />College Football Hall of Fame, <br />Southeast Heritage Homes, <br />the St. Joseph County Juvenile <br />Justice Center, the Boys and Girls <br />Club at Family and Children's <br />Center — Southeast, the new campus <br />of Ivy Tech State College, <br />Robertson's Apartments, the <br />Leighton Plaza project and the <br />Morris Performing Arts Center; and <br />WHEREAS, Mike always looked for <br />a way to make projects happen in a <br />way that benefitted South Bend; and <br />WHEREAS, Mike brought his <br />lengthy experience in the <br />construction industry to the <br />Commission and provided valuable <br />assistance to the Commission as they <br />proceeded with many large projects <br />in the redevelopment areas; and <br />WHEREAS, Mike unselfishly gave of <br />his time for the betterment of the <br />community with no concern for <br />individual honor or recognition, <br />although he played an instrumental <br />role in setting policy and negotiating <br />through the details of many <br />important projects; and WHEREAS, <br />during his tenure on the Commission <br />Mike often had to make some <br />difficult decisions that were not <br />popular with all segments of the <br />community, but which he felt were <br />vital for South Bend; and <br />WHEREAS, Mike has never forgotten <br />the public that he serves and has <br />been committed to the public process <br />of decision making; and WHEREAS, <br />Mike has taken a new job in Dayton, <br />-7- <br />
