South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />Annual Organizational Meeting - January 7, 2000 <br />6. 1999 ACCOMPLISHMENTS <br />Mrs. Kolata noted that 1999 was a very <br />productive year and provided a summary of <br />Redevelopment accomplishments. <br />Commercial Corridors <br />The South Gateway Steering Committee is <br />meeting regularly and implementing plans <br />based on the South Gateway Commercial <br />Corridor Action Plan. <br />Reconstruction and Landscaping of the South <br />Michigan/Chippewa Island was completed. <br />Completed curb and sidewalk reconstruction <br />project along Ewing Avenue, between South <br />Main and Michigan Streets, and South <br />Michigan Street, between Ewing Avenue and <br />Donald Street. <br />The Lincolnway West Commercial Corridor <br />Action Plan was completed and the Steering <br />Committee and Subcommittees are established <br />and meeting regularly to work toward <br />implementing projects based on the Action <br />Plan. <br />The Western Avenue Commercial Corridor <br />Action Plan was completed and the Steering <br />Committee and Subcommittees are established <br />and working toward implementing projects <br />based on the Action Plan. <br />Completed painting and installation of new <br />lighting on Western Avenue /Walnut Street <br />Viaduct. <br />10 <br />
