South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />Regular Meeting - October 1, 1999 <br />4. COMMUNICATIONS <br />There were no Communications. <br />5. OLD BUSINESS <br />There was no Old Business. <br />6. NEW BUSINESS <br />Mrs. Kolata asked permission to add item <br />6.y. to the agenda. There was no objection <br />and item 6.y. was added. <br />a. Staff report on acquisition of <br />property in the South Bend Central <br />Development Area. (201 S. Main St.) <br />Mrs. Kolata stated that a counter offer <br />in the amount of $525,000.00 was <br />received from Kevin Butler, on behalf <br />of Philip A. Traub, owner of the former <br />Hardee's restaurant. <br />The conditions relative to the counter <br />offer are as follows: (1) The City will <br />be responsible for payment of real <br />estate taxes for 1999, payable in 2000. <br />(2) Mr. Traub will be responsible for all <br />prior taxes and will pay his attorney's <br />fees. (3) The City will be responsible <br />for all closing costs, including without <br />limitation title insurance, survey and <br />environmental studies, reports and <br />testing. <br />Mrs. Kolata stated that the 1999 taxes <br />payable in 2000 which the City will be <br />responsible for paying total <br />approximately $3,500.00. <br />-3- <br />THERE WERE NO COMMUNICATIONS <br />THERE WAS NO OLD BUSINESS <br />ITEM 6.Y.
