South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />Rescheduled Regular Meeting - August 13, 1999 <br />Commission Genie has had an active <br />role in projects such as the 1st Source <br />Center, the East Bank and East Race <br />Waterway, Monroe Park, Teachers <br />Credit Union, One Michiana Square, <br />Coveleski Stadium, Blackthorn <br />Corporate Park, Southeast Heritage <br />Housing, the St. Joseph County Juvenile <br />Justice Center, the Boys and Girls Club <br />at Family and Children's Center - <br />Southeast, the new campus of Ivy Tech <br />State College, Robertson's Apartments, <br />Leighton Plaza and the Morris <br />Performing Arts Center; and <br />WHEREAS, Genie has always looked <br />for away to make projects happen in a <br />way that benefitted South Bend; and <br />WHEREAS, Genie has always shown <br />uncommon courtesy and concern for <br />people affected by the decisions of the <br />Commission; and WHEREAS, Genie <br />has never forgotten the public that she <br />serves and has been committed to the <br />public process of decision making, <br />recognizing its importance as necessary <br />and beneficial to the decision being <br />made; and WHEREAS, Genie has now <br />decided to retire and move to her <br />hometown of Greensboro, North <br />Carolina; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT <br />RESOLVED that the South Bend <br />Redevelopment Commission hereby <br />recognizes Eugenia S. Schwartz for her <br />commitment and distinguished service to <br />the South Bend Redevelopment <br />Commission and the City of South <br />Bend; thanks her for the outstanding <br />contributions she has made; and declares <br />it will sincerely miss her insight, her <br />diligent work and her presence at future <br />0 <br />
